Stochastic Printing with Wasatch
|
Wasatch has recently introduced new imaging configurations that
leverage Precision Stochastic Screens (PSS). This new halftone
method can lead to sharper and more accurate images, especially
for dye-sublimation printing. In addition to improving image quality,
PSS also improves RIP speed up to 30% for variable-dot printers
and more then 50% for fixed-dot printing.
PSS achieves color accuracy
that resembles the details and continuous gradients of photographic
pictures. Using PSS, Wasatch's Softrip is able to eliminate
banding
or "rainbowing" in print
gradients that are typically more obvious using conventional
halftoning methods.
